February planting of lettuce and spinach (seeds) have sprouted in my cold frame. Plants still small enough to take cold temps. Problem now is trying not to fry them LOL

Got my first ripe tomato from the "Tomato Jungle" Thats 20 plants, 6 basil, 5 dill, and 4 cukes. The tomatoes are doing pretty good with over 300 maters so far.

Thats blu's Vue II in the driveway. He is the Gardening Angel.

My February (cold frame) lettuce and spinach is doing fantastic. Spinach actually too big as leaves are 8 to 9 inches long now. The dink spinach plants were started in April. Hard to see, but two rows of lettuce in the back. One row was from thinned out original plantings which help produce a staggered crop from just one planting. Alas, my April lettuce seeds are showing no signs of sprouting. How can they sprout in February and not April LOL The green lettuce plant (back left) is a volunteer.

My greek basil plant is almost 20'' tall. That was from a cutting taken in the fall. I already started 3 others from it and will do a few more cuttings soon. To the right is one of my sweet potatoes I am starting slips for. Got a late start so a few weeks behind. I should have the slips, 'slipped' off and rooted by now.

Cold frame tomatoes are about 4'' tall so by late May they should be perfect transplanting size for their garden home. Alas, just like last year I lost some potato growth to frost. I never think of protecting them when the temps are only going gown to 35 - 36 degrees forgetting at ground level it can be colder. Ugh.
