My bro in law does this at his place on Lake WI, with his old/real x-mas trees. I get caught up on it a lot when pier fishing but it definitely holds the fish.
Also a great idea at any lake you enjoy going to.Find a secluded spot or an easily recognizable place and drop yours and any others you can get there.Your own personal hot spot on a public lake.
It's on Stearns Rd 2 miles west of rte 59. I don't see it on the DFP maps yet, but google maps shows it pretty clearly. There are 2 small islands on it and it looks to have parking relatively close to the lake.
:-D Okay I just google earthed Pratt's Wayne & there was a lake to the right of the forest preserve however it didn't show the water that is already in pratt's wayne so I'm taking it that this lake is not actually in the pratt's entrance is that correct. Thanx :-D
Good idea. One thing from the article that struck me as funny was the comment that ecologists have already noticed birds and turtles moving in......as if the opening of the quarry meant nothing was allowed in there before.
Mr Fish - Correct, the Northeast section of Pratt's Wayne is north of the main entrance. The preserve property is huge and actually goes east to rte 59. I haven't been out that way in a while, but I would imagine that a special entrance to Harrier is now there on Stearns rd.
Has anyone seen a DFPD marked entrance on Stearns?
