Spent day on river with son and his friend looking for smallies and ended up with only one keeper (10 total fish). The normal spots weren't producing except for an awesome 5# Northern Pike that my son caught. We usually catch one every third trip or so, but this was the biggest seen yet.
Water temps on the river were 73 and water was somewhat stained. Talked to some guys on the water that were struggling and said the heavy rains from the previous week didn't slow the fishing down, the 20 degree drop in temperatures did.
Ended up being an awesome day weather-wise and taking time out to eat at the restaurant next to Clementine's on the river was awesome. With the water level being 2-2.5 feet higher than it was last year, I'm looking forward to the fall.
