Lake Catherine

My son in law and I were fishing Lake Catherine and had been trolling Muskie when I decided to stop and cast for a while. Just when he started reeling in his baby depthraider an 8# largmouth took it. What a nice surprise. We didn't get any Muskies but had a great day. The fish looked very old.
We let the fish go for another angler to catch.

Has anyone been doing any good on the Chain or is it too hot.
What's the water level?

Water's low. Higher than drawdown levels. Lower river is really shallow. Bass bite has been hot early morning and mid day but mostly small ones. We've also gotten some small walleye, and big cats.
