In the AR family a 5.56mm. is also known as the 223cal., while its acceptable to shoot 556mm. & 223cal.
But a dedicated 223.cal., is not recomende to shoot 5.56mm., its a variable.

What a GREAT ARTICLE. Especially that it directly focus's on how hard they are to hunt. But then again out West (article) the Coyote is much more in tune as to the relation ship between MAN & DANGER . Around here the Coyote is much more relaxed because of the daily exposure to humans & their ongoing actions.
Whenever I hunt in Southern Wisconsin & set up our spot, we have it down pat as to lure them in. eg; a I-Pod & speakers, set up at our decoy aprox., 35/40 yds. away from us. When the calling starts & it draws the attention of a Coyote or 2, they are focused in the direct line of the moving distressed quarry that we have set up & move it from time to time to keep them interested. A remote car that has been drapped in camo & a small stuffed teddy bear situated on top of the car. Moved back & forth a foot or two every 30sec. or so brings them in on a run. Makes for some memorable memories & a great way to spend a day hunting. In the past when I first started in this yote hunting, I cant tell you the times we have been busted by a mere movement from us like a slight head or hand movement. They'd spot us 150yds. off. Never to be called back-up. The remote car & teddy does the trick.

Out here in the rural Ashkum area we keep the numbers of 'yote down to a reasonable level by any means legal... however we are careful not to wipe em out they are way too much of a formidable quarry to completely eliminate. And they are part of natures plan, mine too on the weekends when the rivers too high to fish!!

Yotes in my area have been in the rise for about 5yrs., now. Numerous pets are missing, NO MORE PHEASANTS, gone, encounters like never before. This past Sept., my neighbor tells me that coming home one night his headlights exposed 7 yotes feeding on the dropped pears in his yard. Now that tree is maybe 20yds. from his garage. I've seen'em also feeding on the pears that have dropped from my tree. Another neighbor comes out her service door into the garage & there are 2 that ripped into her bag of dog food, stared her down & would not be scared off, only 10ft. off. They had their fill & kept coming back for more attacking the food source on 2 different occasions. 2 years ago attacked a BIG lab 90lbs., or?, caused a $400.00 vet bill, & this was a mid-morning jaunt while the Mom was at the play field setting up a table, 25yds. away. 2 guys scared them off, but it only took 10sec., & the damage was done.
IMO., its only a matter of time when something is gonna happen & it might lead to the attack of a child or youngster, just playing in their back yard squeeling away making noise in a shrill manner & attracting a predator.
WAK'em & STACK'em. 5 down so far & many to go.

OK. I'm curious. Back in the day I used to shoot coyote, fox, racoons when you could make a buck. And I know they been around in close proximety to humans for a bazillion years. Hell I saw one on California and Addison by the old Edison plant in Chicago in broad daylight last year. They eat vegetables, mice, rabbits, birds, bugs, an occassional poodle, but what havoc do they create?
Bravery and Fear are one in the same. It is how you react to them that determines which you have.
I'm curious like big saw. If they attack your animals or kids I'm all for shooting them. If you are just killing them because they are in the area thats another story. I just think the more urban sprawl we have the more we have encounters with these animals, which is not their faults.
