I have one of those okuma telescoping rods and like it for jigs and spinners, but I don't think I'd ever toss bull dogs with it :)18

jeez Andy and Tim have gotten close this year. Last year it was non stop "Andy this, Andy That" I guess the "Older gentleman, younger twink" thing they have going is working out well. Hopefully Tim doesn't end up in Andy's crawlspace.

As Fig Rig is concerned, it was during my PMTT days, got a killer discount on the rods. I still use the Walleye spinning rod and the 8' H but the rest were prone to snapping.

Wow, You guy's snap a lot of rods! I have been fishing my entire life and I have snapped 2. And it had nothing to do with the quality of the blank, as it usually doesn't. My client's use my rods all the time and they don't snap them either, because I take care of them.
I'm sticking to my original suggestion, Tooth Tamer. It's not as expensive as St. Croix and it holds up just as well. My guess is that you will never have to deal with the warranty.

Jerry 7 Tooth Tamers over 4 years. Only 1 of the 8' H, and all snapped midway on the blank, clean break. All snapped on a cast or hookset. Fig Rig/Toothtamer has had a well known breakage problem, I have heard that they have corrected most of the issues now, but I like my Okuma's better now to switch back.
