Went out that sunday from 7-12ish. Went out with my buddy Bill (grindstone) on his boat out of one of the chicago harbors. Went 8 for 13 with a nice 6lb steely bill caught to boot! All the rest mostly coho. Fished 12-20ft of water. Hot bite was around 15 feet. Fishing was slow early but picked up when we hit 15ft of water. Fish were plentiful......10 feet down! Didn't make a difference what depth we were in, making sure our baits ran 10 feet down was the key. Trolled Black and gold flicker shads, orange shad raps, blue/chrome . Absolutely gorgous day. On another note, didnt see the shore fishermen doing too much of anything. I fished the weekend prior FROM SHORE with 4 other buddies and we went 14 for 25. On bobbers 3-4 feet down with crawlers and casting shad raps. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck. Davey B.
