Went to Brother Ty's on Lake of the Ozarks April 7-12 on a combination crappie/bass/cat/mushroom run. Lake surface temp riseing from 55 on our arrival to 59 by Tues. the 12th. First serious warmup of the spring with temps in the high 80s to low 90s over the weekend. Lake level slowly riseing from winter pool (down about 5'). Weren't fareing to well with the blues till Tues. afternoon evening. Brother Butch missed the first one that rose toward the surface and left a boil as big as a bathtub when he shook the hook. Butch was the first to score minutes later with a blue about 12#. My turn soon after but the 6# was just lightly hooked and as I grabbed the line to hoist him up on the dock he got off. Butch countered with a blue kitty about 8#. Then my cat clicker started to scream; the battle was on and I landed a behemoth blue that tipped the hand-held digital scale at 54#. Below is a collection of photos including a pic of what a blue cat of that size does to a net. All blues taken off Brother Ty's dock at mile marker 2. Fresh cut shad tempted all the kittys.
Yeah-for perspective I'm about 6' 3" and one bisquit shy of 240 lbs and I've got my hands full. Sorry about the photos with the cats heads and tails chopped off-still struggling with the new Photobucket format; before they were automatically retrofitted. Now a computer kamikaze like me has to try to do it. I've been using the img link, any help or suggestions?
