8/1 Grayling - Crescent Lake - Cooper Landing, AK
Image
Rented Mountain Bikes and road the crecent lake trail 6 miles up the side of a mountain to catch arctic grayling. I'M STILL HURTING! Caught about 10 using a wooly bugger under a bobber and Panther Martin Spinners. Weather was too windy to get one on the fly rod.

Getting ready to tackle the mountain.

Overall, another fantastic trip. I caught a King, Sockeye, Coho, Pink, Grayling, Dolly Vardon, Rainbow Trout, Halibut, & Pacific Cod. Couldn't get a Chum salmon or Lingcod. The highlight of the trip were the bears:

Thanks all....2 years of planning and saving loose change and research paid off. Its hard to leave that place after you've been there and seen so many different places. Watching it on TV doesn't is great...when you get there its even more spectacular. Now I have to do the canada trip and south america trip to complete my fishing wishlist....

Eric,

Those pics are awesome. Where did you stay? I'll have to do the float trip on the upper kenai next time. I fished mainly the Kenai when not on guide trips. The Russian seemed slow so passed on it and I had my fill of combat fishing for the most part. Get the book Highway Angler if you go again by Gunnar Pedersen if you go again. Found 3 nice places to go and have a few on my list to explore next time. Where did you get the cohos?

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

Send me a pm with your e-mail. I'll send you a pdf file. You got to book soon to guarantee a good week next year. I believe you bought the bow and decoys from me. Your money went to good use as you can see.
