Got out for an afternoon hust just to test the water and had a few buffle heads buzz by as we were setting decoys. First bird the stopped in the decoys turned out to be a canvas back. After that we had groups of 4 - 6 mallards drop in, but they kept setting down just outside the decoys and were too far to shoot. Then with about 30 minutes left ton of geese fly over and we were ale to call one in, followed by a buffle head and then we wrapped up the day with a pair of mallards that came in closer then the rest

Looks like ya shot one to me!
They're pretty big ducks, if I had to guess the only way I
could think of to answer your question would be to pluck it and
see if it has pin feathers, but I would also guess that the
reasoning for your question is because you want to get it
mounted? If so, I'd say that's a pretty solid bull canny! Nice duck!
One thing that can help when ducks, especially mallard "light out" is
move your decoys around. Usually it's not much, but making
sure you have a big landing hole and no decoys farther than
40yards is pretty crucial stuff.
