Montrose 6/3 AM - Not Quite There....

Postby The Great One » Fri Jun 03, 2011 12:28 pm

Hit Montrose from 5am till about 9ish...

Started on the East wall... I was surprised at how deserted it was... I figured that people would be out on the mere fact that it was June 3rd...

Overall it was slow, with all action coming before 7:30am... Only took a lone keeper, a 10.5 inch fatty... I did lose a fish in the same size range at the wall... PROTIP: Net any fish over 10 inches... The fatties don't like to be lifted  Other than those 2 there were a few short fish also... All fish were taken on Shiners fished 15-17 feet below a slip float... Hits were very subtle and light... Bite completely shut down for me once the wind kicked up around 7:30...
It ain't broke, it just lacks duct tape!

It's still very slow went to diversey, stayed for two hours and caught one goby.

You don't need a net to land a perch. My God!

Thanks for the report...This west wind should help us shore guys out. Is the water clearing up? When I rode through on wednesday, it seemed better than a couple of days prior.

Water clarity seemed fine... It wasn't totally clear down to 20 feet, but I would venture around 10+ feet...

Thanks for the info. 10 feet clarity is great. Last Saturday it was only 2-3 feet. Heading out early tomorrow and will report some results.
