The plan was to go fishing at Diversey harbor, and go join the perching bandwagon. I woke up at about 3:30 a.m., woke the crew up. I got out of the house drove to pick up Evintos and Steve and off to Diversey Harbor we went. Upon arrival at the mouth of the harbor, it was freezing and dark, and there were a few guys out already. Some dude had one perch in a fish cage, the idea was oh this should be an okay day. So we fished nothing, at around 5, Westwind came and joined the crowd. Evintos caught one shortly after he came it was about 8-9 inch dink, so that was released. As time went on Westwind was the only one pulling out fish he pulled out like 6 except 1 that wasn't a dink. Everyone else there didn't get anything either. All fish were released, and we called it a day at around 7-8 ish. Will try again when the water is warmer.
Nice to meet you and your buds. Glad you could make it up to the Northside, but unfortunately the fishing was lousy. The cold dirty water (visibility less than 3 feet) chased them out. Only caught 1 that was 10" and all the others were 6-8". All the regulars met the same fate. Hopefully when the water warms back up to around 60 and clears up, fishing will improve. Hope to see you again. This has been an unusal spring.
