Waukegan 4-7

Postby washhusky102 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 3:01 pm

So off me and captron went with Tomas Fleischmann with our hopes up high but in the end all 3 of us came back with "you know what" in our hands.

Started off in 100 ft of water and instead of going deeper we went in to 30 and back out again. Funny thing is we wanted to start at 200 and with the seas a foot or less it would have been no problem. Radio chatter later in the morning had us really second guessing our earlier decision. We dropped the ball bigtime. For the guys that were out there, good job :)2

We wound up going 3 for 3 on all Lakers. Took 1 on a rigger down 20 at 45 ft on a fly/dodger, and a double in 80ft on a dipsy/fly/flasher out 120 and a rigger down 30 on a spoon.

Mudline was out to around 40ft also seen some Perch Jerkers out there. Dont know how they did.

On the bright side, me and Tom only had 1 /argue

Thanks Tom for the Cigars, Venison and your sack on my forehead :)22

One thing I am going to tell you is that there are fish out deep all year round. When the cohos move in shallow there are steelhead and coho still out deep.

You did almost as well as I did on the mudhole. Your fish were a tad bigger. :)2
Is "basstiality" the same as sleeping with the fishes?

We shan't openly ever discuss fishing with a float or any organic matter for it is not the way of the Bassalarro.

Thanks for the tip :)2

There were a few positives we can take from our outing today. Although they were Lakers, we didnt hear anyone do squat inside a 100 and we took 3. Going out to 200 ft is not for everyone. I have done enough of trolling not to press anymore, trust me. When you get a crew of friends together, it becomes a colective thought process on what we all feel like we want to do.

I used to be a all or nothing kind of guy and with that came a lot of aggression. I would always bitch at everyone for not doing what they are supposed to. I always wondered why guys werent as serious as me and i am starting to understand why. I think it's time for me to settle down a bit and if i dont see the numbers that i want to see, as long as others are having fun, i really dont care how many or how big as much as i used to.

Tom is helping me see the fun in fishing. It was very relaxing today and we caught a few. Thanks Tom for being my sponser :)2 Time for somebody else to take the helm.

Enjoy fishing when its good. Enjoy life when the fishing is not good. Saturday was a nice day to get out. We didn't just go for a boat ride, crap we Had a decent double with some greasers. That was exciting. We will catch enough salmon this year to keep our belly's full, I'm sure of that. It'll he fun as long as we keep the cuban's with us. :)2

Keep'n it deep,

Itchy!
