Tiny Fluke

Postby spawnman » Sun May 27, 2012 8:49 pm

I was looking to buy some Tiny Flukes off ebay for perch fishing. I just wanted to ask what are some of the popular color patterns that produce perch? Mini Mites or Cubbys used to work great for me off the Goverment Pier, but they only seem to catch me gobys here in Chicago. I am planing on fishing Diversey tomorrow. I have been trying everything everything from kastmastes, shad raps, mini mites, little joe, and white twist tails all jigs tiped with shrimp. So far I have only managed one perch Diversey lakeside on a small gold Kastmaster. Hopefully things will improve tomorrow, btw I saw a guy loose a smallie Saturday evening at Diversey lakeside while jiging for perch.

Have you looked into the 1" gulp split-tail minnows in chartreuse or shad color...
Put a tiny split shot 12" to 18" in front of your small, long shanked hook.

Start with Green Albino and Smoking Shad... Those are good Perch colors...

I fished Sunday late morning to late afternoon I tried all sorts of jigs and moved around quite a bit. I only managed one nice keeper lakeside on a small silver Kastmaster. Everyone else jiging had similar results. I saw a fellow with his kids using minnows and they had a basket full, but they where working for them all afternoon. looks like its still a minnow bite for now.
