Those aren't rumors. People have had equipment seized for various violations. Poles, for something like fishing in a restricted area of a cooling lake. (Braidwood). Boats and Scuba gear for things like "shocking" fish or illegally taking mussels. Technically I guess you could say that anything used to take game or aquatic life illegaly can be deemed a "nuisance" device and is subject to confiscation. The checks and balances of this system is the courts. Just because the equipment has been seized by the Officers, the final confiscation order is from the judge. Its all spelled out in the ILCS Chapter 515 Act 5 section 5/1-215
