Brand doesn't matter. I buy Hodgman because I get a great price from a friend. I would go with stocking foot because it's cheaper to change wading boots than waders. I like felt soles for most wading. Another advantage of wading boots is you can use them without waders when wet wading, such as flats fishing in Florida or the Bahamas.
