Dull but not boring..
We've been out fishing.
I've been concentrating on local ponds experimenting with flies I've tied.
By mixing colors and sizes, i've found some pattterns the gills and bass love.
One is a small olive woolly worm, (Either snub end or pheasant tail) the other is a foam spider with white legs. I usually use a popper as an indicator, but I might just try a pinch float.
I had been banging the shorelines <30 feet out.
Yesterday I dropped the fly within 3 feet of shore next to weed clumps.
Wham, with the higher water from the rains, there is tons of cover very close to shore.
I love river fishing, but I don't get the chance too often.
Lakes are where I spend my time....
