Funny you should mention Elkhorn and eBay. Here's a guy that likes Elkhorn too. Found him on eBay. Like you said, the finished rod is about $150. Kits around $110. Near Sage performance is pretty high praise, but you do have the experience to back it.
BTW White's eBay feedback is a mixed bag. Does anyone have any personal experience with the guy?
