No, you've probably heard about the twice a year dump of a hatchery truck at Silver Springs State Park. Only the far northern edge of the state had streams that at one time held brook trout. The E.Fork of Racoon Creek near Rockford may have suitable habitat, studies have just begun there to see if there is a chance that trout could be introduced there. The closest inland trout streams to Illinois are in the far southeast corner of the driftless area (about 20 miles south of Madison, WI).
