Go to http://www.wisflyfishing.com. There is a link to the Wisconsin DNR Trout stream maps. It lists all managed trout waters. Wisconsin has 5 different categories which dictate creel limits. There are a couple of books that are pretty good, one by Humphreys calle Trout Streams of Wisconsin and Minnesota or something like that. It gives a summary of many streams. Another is Wisconsin Trout Streams - An Anglers Guide. This one only talks about 20, 10 in the north and 10 in the south, but goes into more depth on each. 2 of the 10 in the south are near Madison, Mt.Vernon Creek and Black Earth Creek. Black Earth had a major fish kill on it last summer, it may not fish well this year. But Mt. Vernon is top-notch, but crowded at times.
