I got out to the Fox on Saturday the 9th at one of the Batavia dams (I am not really sure which, it is by a parking lot in a wooded area) from about noon until 1 pm. It was a beautiful day, but one without fish for me. I was also alone on that stretch of the river, which was nice.

Anyway, my questions are: (1) I read on the Fox board that people were catching Muskie this weekend. Have any of you fished for Muskie on the fly on the Fox? Any success? Any suggestions for flies/techniques? I have a 9 wt. rod with a heavy duty reel. I also like to tie buggers and bunny leech patterns. Any insight or tips would be appreciated.

(2) Have any of you ever fished egg patterns (like globugs) for smallies or other fish on the Fox? I have thought about giving it a try this spring (assuming that is when most species will be spawning). I have read that smallies are "opportunistic" feeders, so I thought they might take advantage of full spawning beds. Any thoughts on this from the wise and experienced fly fisherman who peruse this board would be great.

Thanks in advance.
