Don't know much about that, but I know that the upper section and the tribs are better for trout than the main river once you get toward Crystal Falls and downstream. Then, I think, it becomes a decent smallmouth fishery with the occasional brown. Let us know how you do. I'm planning to hit the Paint at some point this summer. My wife's family has a place up near there.
