Another thought: Reddington makes two different lines of lower priced reels, I believe: RedFly and RedStart. I don't own any Reddington reels, but I have an old Reddington rod that I really like. Since then the company's been bought by Orvis. I don't know if it's been good or bad for their product lines, but the reel I looked at looked solid and was about $30.
