: Does anyone know where the nearest flyshop is in relation to the Indiana/Illinois border? I am looking to buy a new wf8 cortland lazerline or scianglers mastery, and I can't find one at any of the stores I know of. Also, does anyone have any input on these lines? Steelies are being taken off the pier in Michigan City in the mornings. I saw 5 or six caught in a couple hours today. I am looking into experimanting with streamers and diver type flys on the pier head, but my fly line is way too chewed up. I need a line quick so please reply. Thanks in advance.

John (the same John from TSS?), I would go with the Scientific Anglers line over any other brand. It's so much more durable. As far as flyshops near the border, what about Gander Mountain in Merrillville? I don't get in there often, but I think they've got some fly gear. Or in Tinley Park, IL, try the Fishing Connection on 159th Street (Ithink). One other thing-you may want to consider a t-200 line. The first 24 feet are sinking. It may get too deep too fast for fishing off the pier, but it casts like a rocket with a minimum of false casting, and it may be just what you need. Keep us posted;you may see me on the pier soon if the skamania don't enter the streams soon. I'm going crazy waiting.
