I just bought the abu garcia 5600ab also. in order for me too cast with any distance with the anti backlash on I need to use heavy lures. All of my spinner baits are a 1/4 oz or less. I am hoping I can cast farther with a 1/2 oz spinner bait. For the hell of it I put on a big musky lure and it worked pretty good. On a positive note I had accidently turned the backlash feature off and casted pretty far with no backlash. I think that the confidence I got from the backlash mechanism allowed me to calm down and just cast it. So yesturday I used it with the abs off. Stll had some backlash, but I can see myself getting the hang of it with practice.
