: Hot as it gets out. In fact, we were the only ones who braved the heat this afternoon at the main dam. 9 total cats caught. But... all were small except for a decent 14 incher. Chicken livers again were tha bait to use. The action wasn't quite as good as earlier in the week. Water level was very low and very little water coming over the dam (just wind blown). The little cats will tag the heck out of the chicken livers driving you nuts. I know there's got to be a 5 pounder in there waiting to be caught. Anyone have any suggestions? I think I've experienced the absolute extreme temps at the Busse main dam/warm water discharge area. I made it out the week after the blizzard in January when the temp was 6! Now I made it out when the temp was 96. Litteraly. And caught fish each time. Anyways.. any other catfishing tips would be appreciated as I am new to catfishing.

Try Raw Shrimp...You can get them at Jewel for about 10 cents a piece, raw and uncooked..I leave a bag in the freezer and only bring a dozen or so when I go for cats(not very often). They dont stink the place up and I find big cats love them. If you go for a while without a bite, peel a fresh one cause they tend to turn white(cook) in warm water. I have caught cats on shrimp when even crawlers were not producing.
