: I thought I would see if my luck would change and headed over to Axehead Lake this morning. Fished from 0650 to 0900 in light rain. Determined fishing shoulder to shoulder just isn't for me. Fishing etiquette must have been suspended with the opening of the season. Crossed lines and wayward casts were abound. I left without a hit. Saw some nice fish landed, but it would make one wince to see how some of the fish were handled once ashore. I'm new (and bad) at angling (go back to work without a hit during lunchhours at Busse) but I would treat fish more kindly if I ever have the thrill and good fortune of landing one.

: I enjoy reading this board and have learned from it. Thank you all.

Wait another week or two, trick is to use 2 lb test line.long tied on portion is ok,watch your knot tho anyway get some waxworms, size 10-12 hook,a tiny tint float and Tiny split shot ...do the shallows,5-20 feet out,1-3 feet deep on your float-bait i think you may limit out...using this method
