This post is borderline absurd. There's no way I would advise going out and fishing buzzbaits in this weather, unless you want to do some experimenting and have some time to waste—as I have been doing.
Monday, October 18, Partly Cloudy, 51° Wind: calm
A perfect looking topwater evening. With it being downright dead calm, how could I say no to the buzzbait? Spooked many fish in the shallows as I approached the pond, saw some surface activity such as baitfish skittering out of "something's" way...
Threw the 1/4 ounce white buzzbait around some patches of surface weeds. No sign of anything until a bulging wake surfaced behind my buzzbait and then it (the buzzbait) disappeared. Got a good thrashing, as I the fish hit only twelve feet from me. If it were summer, this big bass surely would've broken my line. The fight was short, and I landed a silvery-green hawg. (Sorry for the flowery writing, I'm trying to one-up JQ).
As with all hawgs, I took a long look, because you never know whey you'll see your next one again. Took some measurements, 20" length & 7" from back to belly. No photo though, you've seen one arm's length fish pic, or bass laying on the ground, you've seen 'em all. Released.
Good Fishing. C&R
