Flats? Huh? Does that mean calm water? Because that's where I've had success this fall. Weedlines with access to deep water, and some of the nastiest cover you can find. It doesn't have to be shallow.
Funny, I've never took the temperature, but I've caught fish. Maybe I've put down the In-Fisherman long enough to cast some lures and draw my own conclusions.
