Took a friend bass'n yesterday. Way too hot to be out, (not for the fish, but for me) but what the hell. Remember about four weeks ago I posted a pic of two big bass side by side? I caught the one on the right in a pond in back of my home. Well my buddy picked him up on a gold Aglia #3 yesterday at about 2:00. Hotter than hell and no weed cover, but a big fish still interested in spinner. I ran and got a tape measure, and indeed it was the 21 incher. We were fools for not calling it quits right then and there.

Took some more abuse in the heat and fished some other neighborhood ponds. Picked up a few small bass on a gold Rapala, a few on a Tiny Torpedo, and a 13" on a frog.

Friday night I was out fishing a frog and was getting skunked. I was about to quit when I put on a small Aglia and just walked the perimeter of the pond and gently dunked it in the small holes in the surface weeds. Now this is getting pretty desperate, but it did yield a 16" bass. Try it sometime, it will get your heart beating again after a tough day of fishing.

Good Luck.

Eric S.
