went fishing this fall (late fall) on the Des Plaines just below dam #2 off lake ave and milwaukee. I caught a beautiful pike much to my surprise.
I live not 3 minutes from there!!!!!! I guess i amy have to check it out this spring. I also stop by Beck lake when i just need to get a line wet. Its not much for size, but beats not doing anything. My fishing in this area has been more towards the chain and loon. I wish there was a good muskie lake closer. Did get my biggest Illinois muskie out of Loon though.
