: : : : : : Has anyone had any luck Fishing at the lake at 167th between Harlem & 76th Ave. In tinley park.

: : : : : Mac,
: : : : : I've had limited success at Centennial in Tinley, mostly smaller bass (nothing bigger than a lb or 2)taken on plastics, though I know some of the Old-Timers out there do very well with the crappie, & the catfish.
: : : : : And of course there are a few guys who manage to pull a few of those "snake" Norherns out on a fairly regular basis. You may want to try the "Other" Centennial park,The one in Orland. (157th just west of La Grange Rd) We took some real nice bass there this past summer. Plastic grums work good here, scented is better. ( they really like garlic flavor on this lake)

: : : :
: : : : I read in the Southtown that they plan on putting some time & money into this lake, stocking it, and perhaps building a boardwalk around the lake and also a small boat launch and marina. Is there any truth to this that you know of?
: : :
: : : If your talking about the lake in Orland, Yes!they have already put in a few very nice fishing platforms, & will be renting canoe's or small boats soon, I fished it from a canoe last year. They have stocked crappies & smallies, & will continue to stock as funds become available, & they have a better idea of how the stocking program is working, this is a really nice park, a great place for a family outting with BBQ grills & picnic tables, & they should have the new water slide/swimming pool ready this year. bring the kids & stay all day!

: : TO ANY ONE STILL CURIOUS, THE LAKE IN TINLEY HAS BASS UP TO THREE POUNDS. I HAVE CAUGHT THESE FISH. SOFT PLASTICS WORK. AND IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO GET NUMBERS OF FISH WITH SMALL KIDS(SUNFISH)
: .................
: Did you get the bass off one of the piers or did you get them somewhere around the lake?

THIS IS COREY AGAIN,SOME OF MY BASS WERE AROUND THE PIERS, BUT I HAVE TAKEN BASS ALONG MOST OF THE SHORE. NOT THE SPILLWAY, ALTHOUGH EVERYONE TELLS ME THAT IS A GREAT SPOT. PLUS DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY TINLEY WHEN IT FLOODS. CAUSE I HAVE HAD GOOD ACTION THROWING BAITS WHERE I NORMALLY WOULD BE ON DRY GROUND. GOOD LUCK
