Didn't catch any fish yesterday, but thought I'd at least report on the conditions as of yesterday. The lake is still pretty iced over, but the middle dam and main dam areas are free of ice. Water is pouring over the dams at a pretty steady pace with plenty of current but the water levels are still low and the water is extremely clear. Very little fishing pressure out these days, I only saw a couple of people at the main dam, and nobody else at the middle dam. I tried using different size and color jig and twistertails for about 3 hours yesterday and only felt 1 very light bite about 3 feet out from shore. Unable to even come close to catching it, for all I know it may have been a bluegill.
I think it's still too cold to fish the area with twisters and wish I had brought some minnows and plain hooks with me. Either way it was good to get out after not fishing for over a month. Maybe next time....................:-)
