I enjoy fishing these close to home lakes and would love to see one of the CCFPD officers get out of their patrol car, drill a few holes, measure the ice thickness and decide if it is safe.

The funny thing is that Tampier had open water near the culvert. Mind you that 99.999999% of the lake was safe ice, but usually the CCFD would have it closed down. I gave up trying to figure out that joke dept. years ago.
