What a way to start the day, got up before the Sun and went out and fished a little retention pond near my house this morning, last nights heavy rains had it swollen pretty good, fished the culvert feeding INTO the pond, got 5 Bass (I figure around 17lbs.total) in about 15-20 minutes, then the sun started peeking out over the rooftops to the east & they shut off like someone threw a switch, Throwing dark colored 4inch tubejigs rigged Texas style & pegged the weight, just gently pitched the bait into the culvert along the edge & let the current do most of the work, a few LITTLE twitch's & watch the line ( I never did actually feel a bite), when the line starts swimming away CROSS THEIR EYE'S for em hard & HOLD ON! If you have a retention Pond near you, give it a try you might be VERY SURPRIZED, My "All-Time Big Bass" came from just such a pond two years ago (8lb.2oz) :)
