I am posting this here and on the "Forest Preserve Board" as well.
Can I tell you that I have not fly fished in quite some time?
As a matter of fact I talked to my friend Bruce (nutty fly guy)
and told him I wanted to get back into fly fishing. I picked
his brain, went to Bass Pro in Gurnee, droppeed 2 bills on a St.Croix
and line, reel, tippets, the whole nine yards.
After a couple of practice casts I said "I'm ready".
Went to a friends pond. Tied on one of Bob's hand tied flies.
I kept getting short hits, so I (sorry Bob) clipped off part of
the tail and absolutely whacked em'. Caught 40 gills. Biggest was
10 1/4". All on the same fly.
Went to a different pond with another of Bob Long's flies and caught
another 20...........
Bob....................... Guess what??????? They work outstanding.
