: Day 2 and the gills were still going strong! One angler had a nice Bass(about 2 lbs?) and 30 pounds of gills/roaches!!! That is a whole lot of fish LOL. I was laughing my ass off as other anglers(not in the contest) fishing the other side of the lake cathing almost no fish at all. It's amazing what light line, a small hook and a small float will do for your catch poundage.
: It was also a day of lost Carp opportunities. One angler lost four or five Carp. Another angler lost one as it went thru the bottom of his net, another lost one with a line break(but caught another), I lost one that I couldn't stop with my 10 lb test line, and yet one other(to my left) lost one.

OZ,
you are correct a twill shy bite bobber with the two of the smallest split shots you can find and the smallest hook you can find(12-14) or ice fly will raise your catches tremendously. Oh yeah and dont forget 4lbs test line with a proper set drag can land fish 10lbs or bigger.
