: Can anyone update me with recent fishing reports at these two areas? Anything yet with the catfish?

: Thanks.

I went to Monee the other day for the first time in 3 years. The place looks like it's gone down hill. More weeds than I remember in the area by the concession building, and more trash and goose/dog crap then ever. They used to do a great job keeping that place up.

I fished for a little while in the pouring rain and caught a couple very small bass. I saw a couple other people with even smaller bass on stringers as they were leaving. The last several times I was there, I remember the Will Co. Forest Preserve Police walking around checking for stuff like that - and writing tickets. When I left, there was one WCFP cop in a car in the parking lot. It was raining and no one else was fishing so I can't blame him for not getting out of his car.

I might give it another shot this year, but I was very disappointed. I know the weather was responsible for the poor fishing, but there's no excuse for the condition of the grounds. Hopefully I was just there on a bad day because I used to enjoy going there every weekend.

I haven't been to Midlothian in 10-15 years. I have a friend who was robbed twice there at gun point, and another who was beaten up and his gear taken. I've never had a problem there - but it's been a long time.

Good luck.
