being a rookie walleye fisherman, i have much to learn. my last trip to this lake found meon a boat at high noon with alot of bait and no fish or bites. Today was another learning experience... i made to the water early but must pass on two important points to anyone interested in trying this lake:
1. this is a forest preserve and you can't drive in until 8am.
2. you really should fish from a boat and the tip is that the guy that rents the boats shows upwhen he wants-usually around 9am. this isn't as early as i wanted to hit the water but it really didn't matter today. the walleye kept biting till about 12:30pm. I probably caught over a dozen in the 12" range and a real nice keeper about 17" long. total fish about 15 walleye and 5 bigmouth bass.Also, saw a huge pike swimming the weeds. If you try this lake, stay to the left of the bridge on the north end of the lake.
