The fossilized remains of a "Ribbed Trojan"? Sorry... I couldn't resist!
I have one like it in my fishtank that I found near Braidwood, it's just a guess... but I'm thinking some kind for prehistoric tubeworm,( like they find on the ocean floor around volcanic "vents", they seem to be pretty common in this part of the state. Cool find.
