: : : I,ve found the grass carp but how do I catch them. what kind of rig or bait do grass carp take in. any tips would be helpful.

: : They are Vegetarians, try some pieces of green apple, or mullberrys. Here's one I got from McKinley Park a few years ago. Got it on ( of all thinks) a black twistertail jig on 4 lb test line, took about an hour to hawl him in,and landed him without a net. I made $250 in the Pepsi Classic for biggest carp from a Chicago Park Dist. lagoon for that month.

:
: Geez... are those carp as common as regular carp? How many lbs. was that monster anyway? VVN Catch.....

: rooster

That fish only weight about 20 lb. There are lots of them in Marquette Park some up to as much as 50lb, actually they aren't carp at all but the largest member of... you ready for this? The MINNOW family! yep... these big babies are minnows! Green ( just turning red)tomatoes are a good bait too
