: anybody got any suggestions on what to use at the tampier culverts. it would really help me out. thanx
Ooops, just realized I never suggested a bait in your original post. 1'st, the culvert areas may be crowded if it is relatively warm this weekend so I don't know if you will be able to fish the prime areas(current flow). You can try a minnow and slip float for some walleye. I'd try spikes for the crappies on a small jig used with a float also. It is really hit or miss at Tampier and if it rains on Friday just about all the lakes should have lots of open water. If you just want to catch some fish, try Horsetail on 104'th just north of 123'rd. Millions of small gills waiting to be caught(use size 12 or smaller hook and a single spike). Not much, but always good to build the old confidence up to start a new open water season. Saganaskee(just keep going north on 104'th) may work out for Crappie also(sometimes 1'' twister tails work better than spikes or minnows). Tampier & Horsetail are only about 5 - 10 minutes apart and Horsetail and Saganaskee about 1 - 2 minutes apart. Or try Papoose which is about 3 minutes from Horsestail and is just west of Rte 45 on 123'rd. Once in a while I get some Crappies in there on minnows also. So many lakes, so little time :0) Good luck!!!!!
