: HOPING TO GET TO SAGANASKEE TOMMOROW. JUST WONDERIG WHAT YOU GUYS THINK. WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR SOME INFO ON WHAT TO USE AND WHERE. THANX

Saganaskee did have some open water by the dam last week but the parking lot was chained off. The spillway be would be my first choice(along with just about everyone elses). If there is open water along the shoreline I would use a small jig loaded with spikes, or a small minnow. A jig/1'' twister tail may work also. Crappies and Yellow Bass would be your best bet to catch. Even though I have caught some decent Crappie the largest Yellow Bass(who some think are stripers) was about 4''. Try the 107th street entrance also. It's a kinda long walk to the deeper bay and I have no idea about the open water situation. I was hoping for a larger amount of ice melting rain Friday but no luck. Good luck if you go out and please post the results!
