: throughout the season i fish a cementery pond thats rather shallow(about 2-5 feet). i do really good for bluegill and crappie, but i cant seem to catch the big bass in there on artificials. the biggest one ive pulled out of there was a 4 pounder on a nightcrawler in the summer. i was just wondering if anybody has any tips on what kinds of lures i should use in my situation for the upcoming spring and summer.

: p.s. if its helpful, this pond has a lot of layed down trees in the water and a small weed bed in about 2 feet of water. any info would be helpful. thanx

Jax, I fish a very similar type of pond. Some of my biggest fish out of this pond have come on pre rigged worms, IKE CON worms are the best. I fish them
on the surface very slowly. My experiences on shallow ponds are any top water
lure will catch fish. Another technique I use is a bobber with a minnow and NO
weight on the line. This way the minnow is swimming on top of the water and many a bass will smack a minnow when presented this way. Can I ask were this pond is as I like to try new places. Thanks
