: : : I recently purchased an inflatable pontoon boat and now can't find a lake in DuPage/Cook that allows inflatable boats. Does anyone know where I can go to fish with it?
: : ========
: : Not familiar with inflatables. Sturdy enough for river fishing? Could take it on the DesPlaines or the I & M canal. May need a state boat resistration, and of course a motor!
: I discovered this problem some time ago, and rarely use mine. All the forest preserves prohibit inflatables, regardless of quality. The state waters are okay, though I think you now need a license for even small boats. I used mine in Turner Lake at the Chain of Lakes state park years ago. Rivers running through forest preserves are also out. Check out Wisconsin. And let me know. TT
TT, it turns out Cabelo's let me return it since it was not used, even after 5 months. Now I'm going to purchase a Walker Bay 8. It's a 8' boat which is made from impact-modified polypropylene resin. This seems like a better idea, and I have seen them on some lakes already. Here is the website. http://www.walkerbay.com/
