The state waters are okay, though I think you now need a license for even small boats. I used mine in Turner Lake at the Chain of Lakes state park years ago. : TT, it turns out Cabelo's let me return it since it was not used, even after 5 months. Now I'm going to purchase a Walker Bay 8. It's a 8' boat which is made from impact-modified polypropylene resin. This seems like a better idea, and I have seen them on some lakes already. Here is the website. http://www.walkerbay.com/
I ended up buying a 12 ft plastic bass boat from Ed Shirleys, which is trailered but great for the small lakes around. Is yours a fold up or a mini pontoon?TT
