Mark, I have always had success when calling the Dupage County DNR. The longest that it has taken them to arrive has been 15 minutes. The shortest time was about 5 minutes. They are pretty thorough on the phone call too. They find out my name, what I am wearing, what the violator is wearing, and what law they are violating. I have called on people for taking under sized fish and fishing with more than 2 poles. I don't have a problem with someone bobber or bottom fishing with more than 2 poles (the DNR does though) as long as it is maybe 3 or 4 at the most. But this one guy had out 6 poles. Two on the bottom and four with bobber and minnows. I saw one of his bobbers go down while he was tending to some of his other poles and it took about two minutes of his bobber being down and me yelling at him to get the damn fish before he finally reeled it in. That just ticks me off. You know that fish was gut hooked and then he spent a couple of minutes getting his hook out. I called the DNR and they showed up and wrote this guy a ticket and asked him to leave. I don't know about any of the other county DNR officers, but my experience with the Dupage DNR guys has always been pleasant. I have had my license checked at least 2 dozen times at Dupage County lakes and have only been checked two other times in my life. Once on Lake Michagan in Indiana and once fishing Lake Fork in Texas. If you are fishing in Dupage County and see someone violating the game laws give the DNR a call at (630) 942-6062 or their emergency line (630) 942-6061. Good luck and tight lines - Jeff Wolfe
