: Fished cemetery for a couple of hours 3/30 /99.Caught about 30 fish before cops chased me off. There were no signs that said it was illegal. All fish caught using a slip float & plain hook tipped with a piece of worm.No real size.
I have fond memories of visiting my grandparents and my dads grave every sunday afternoon starting when I was 5 and then fishing the pond located within the grounds until closing. The workers also used to stock this pond and we caught just about everything, but my favorite at the time was catching the abundant carp that called the pond home. Catching these freight trains at such a young age is probably a big reason I got so addicted to fishing. Never once did degrading the grounds come into my mind...we paid our respects to our relative graves and enjoyed the rest of the lazy peaceful summer afternoon fishing down by the pond. At one point I remember this pond was
also put off limits by cemetary personel and enforced by local police...because of some bad apples. My uncle always used to have to yell at punk kids breaking branches in the trees that surrounded the lake and we usually wound up picking up leftover garbage. However, one day a couple kids went swimming...one of the boys started having trouble and went under but was rescued by an angler who wasn't suppose to be fishing there. The cemetary changed it's policy after that!
