After reading this string of posts I felt compelled to just ad my 2cents.
Like everyone , I have lost people and yes they get buried in cemetaries.
If there is no posting for fishing prohibited I say "lets fish".
I think the real objection to anglers being on any private property is the few
that leave trash, drink beer openly, and leave traces that someone was there. I am sure its not the
action of fishing that is prohbited, but what most bring along with them when fishing.
If you need examples of what I mean , just walk along the Fox , downtown Elgin. Some of us that frequent this board spent
several hours cleaning it up in the fall and damn if it isnt just as bad
several months later.Maybe if some of us showed a little more responsibility
for the areas we fish, fishing would be allowed in more areas.
.....a footnote
I know for a fact that a cemetary in my area allows walkers to use the roads and footpaths to
get their work out in. But dont allow fishing....Why is one type of visitor allowed and
another not?

: Fished cemetery for a couple of hours 3/30 /99.Caught about 30 fish before cops chased me off. There were no signs that said it was illegal. All fish caught using a slip float & plain hook tipped with a piece of worm.No real size.
