I was fishing a lake that I bass fish, when I noticed a guy throwing something in the water every fifteen minutes or so. I figured he was chumming for carp. After he left I moved to his spot and fished a night crawler off the bottom. Within an hour I caught 3 decent channel cats ,one 19 inches. I know this isnt huge but I always have one pole bottom fishing like this at this lake. I have caught a couple bull head and a carp occasionally. I must conclude it was the chumming the guy did before me that helped. Since, I didnt get to ask the guy what he chummed with, Does anybody have any good chum recipes for cats? I'm not looking for anything elaberate and too smelly though.
